About

We started Joan of d'Arce in the fall of 2024 as a group of women looking for more options and availability in the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu.  We have all competed at least once but some of us are more focused on competition than others.  In our experience, we see the barriers that women and girls have to entering competition - it can be scary! So we wanted to provide a way to compete but with less pressure than mixed gender events.  And thus Joan of d'Arce was born!​

We host tournaments in a super fight format - that means that we directly match competitors with someone close to their age, size, and experience.  We pride ourselves on robust communication with our competitors to make sure that everyone gets the experience they hope for when they come to one of our events.
